How to use the web site
This site has been specially designed so you can search for any product by useing the search bar
The top panel is where you will find information and the search bar. For support contact us or call us on our support line 083 381 5655.
The left hand side navigation is predefined searches to all our products. Click on one of the main sections in bold to read more about what that section is about.
How to buy online
Shopping online is much the same as shopping in a real store. At PC Shopping its even easier. We have carefully constructed this site to make it easy for you to shop for the computer and computer hardware that you need.
Let's take a simple example of buying a motherboard. One option is to use the predefined searches we have created on the left.
The first step is to click on the Motherboard link on the left hand navigation menu. You will then be faced with the selection of motherboards that we sell.
Alternatively you can select the Motherboard category from the drop down list in the top right corner.
Tips to further refine your search
If I where searching for motherboards manufactured by Asus and designed for an AMD AM2 processor, I would do the following:
In the Search for text box, type “AM2”
Set the In category to “Motherboard”
In the Only Show text box select “Asus”
If I where searching for a specific motherboard like the Asus Crosshair, I would do the following:
In the What are you shopping for text box, enter “Crosshair”
Hopefully by now you should have found what you are looking for. If you know the product is right for you, simply click the "Add to Basket" button. However you can also click the icon to give you the full details page. In most cases we will have a larger product image and more details. Near the top of the page you will see the "Add to Basket" button that looks something like this:  .
When you click the "Add to Basket" button you will add the product to your shopping basket. You are under no obligation to make a purchase at this stage. The shopping basket works much like a real shopping basket. You can add and remove items, even change the quantities.
How to use the shopping basket
The shopping basket is very simple to use provided you remember a few things.
To delete and item from your shopping basket click the  button on the left hand side of the specific item. The page will reload automatically showing you the new contents.
To clear all the contents of your shopping basket, click on the "Clear" button located under the shopping basket.
To add another item to the shopping basket click on the "Continue Shopping" button located under the shopping basket.
If you would like more than one of the same item you can simply change the amount in the Quantity column and click the "Update Totals" button located under the shopping basket. The page will then reload automatically showing you the new totals.
Next, click on the "Check Out" button located under the shopping basket.
How to place an order
Once you click on the Check Out button one of two things will happen. If you have already signed up you will simply be asked to enter your username and password. If you have not signed up yet you will be directed to the Sign Up page.
At the Sign Up page you will be asked to enter your personal information. Please enter this information correctly as it will be used in the Invoice and ordering process. Please use a company or ISP email address as most correspondence is done via email. We find that people using a free email address have difficulty reading our emails. ALL INFORMATION SUPPLIED IN THIS FORM IS TREATED WITH ABSOLUTE PRIVACY. We do not make our subscribers list available in any way. Your information is safe with us.
Once signed up with us you can then proceed to the Payment Page.
The payment page starts off looking something like the picture above.
You will be required to select the delivery destination that you specified in the sign up form. It will be referenced by the short name. In this case it is referenced by "Home" i.e. I would like it to be delivered to my home. Under that will be the type of delivery. We offer two types of delivery; regular and Express. The different types come at different costs. In this case the delivery is local and cost the same price. The actual cost of delivery will be determined by the contents of the shopping basket. If you are buying a full computer you will be changed more than if you are just buying a display card. To make a selection click on the respective checkbox. You may select "I will collect" if you are in the Cape Town area and wish to collect your order.
Once selected the page will reload displaying the relevant information and confirming your delivery address. At this stage you may add a delivery message in the text box.
How to pay for your order
There are two options when paying for your order. You even have the option of generating a quotation.
The easiest way to pay and confirm the order is to use the Credit Card option. Simply click the Credit Card option from the list of Payment Options. The page will reload and display a screen much like the one above. Enter the credit card details and click Submit.
You may also select the Direct Deposit option that will show you our bank details and allow you to confirm the order. Please note, we do not process the orders until the funds have been cleared in our account. If you would like to negotiate payment terms with us or are ordering for a company and would like to use a purchase order please contact us directly.
If you are required by your company to have a quotation first, you may generate a quotation by simply selecting the No Obligation Quotation from the Payment options and clicking Submit. A quotation will be generated and a print ready version can be printed directly from the site. Please note that this quotation acts merely is a formality, the prices quoted are subject to change and availability. If you wish to place the order as per the quotation, please return to the site, add the items again, and check out selecting on of the other payment options.
How to see the order status
 Once the order has been complete you will be able to see the status in real time.
From the Order Confirmation page or from any other page that contains the right hand side column, click the My Orders link from the info box.
As the order goes through our processing you will be able to see exactly where it is. Once released to the delivery company you will be able to track its location from their web site. (a direct link is provided).
